Heading Tags – (H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6) Use heading tags in an appropriate structure. If possible wrap your important keyword with H1 and other heading tags for other targeted keywords but don’t over use it. Using one H1, one H2 and so on is enough for every page. Use cascading style sheets (CSS) to format heading formatted text if it is too big or too small.
Other Text Formatting Tags – You may also use other html text formatting tags like bold, italics etc. to indicate important keywords in your webpage’ content. And like heading tags, do not overdo it unless you wanted to get penalize.
ALT Tags – all image used in a webpage should have it’s own alt tag. Use the alt tag to describe what does the image is.
Text vs. HTML – Always see to it that there are more text in a particular webpage than the html code. You may use webpage size checker to determine the ration of text over html tags.
Anchor Text – Refers to the text used to link to another page or site. Use your targeted keywords as anchor text linking to your websites other page.
Keyword Density – keyword density is measured by the number of times a particular keyword is used in every 100 words used in a page. Using a word “keyword” once in 100 words will give you a keyword density of 1% and so on. As for me, I think the advisable keyword density should range from 3 % 3.75% for your keyword in each page.
Keyword Prominence – This refers on how prominent a particular keyword in a particular web page. It is important to place keywords in the start of at least near in the beginning of title, meta tags, start of a webpage or start of the first sentence or paragraph of your webpage’ content.
